Why is it that when I am passionate about helping someone, they don't appreciate it?

I'm always passionate about helping others, but why is it that they not only don't appreciate it, but take it for granted? Is it so hard to be a good person now?

How do you feel when you help someone and they don't appreciate it or even think it's what you should do?

Why is it that when I am passionate about helping someone, they don't appreciate it?

This reminds me of a story: A classmate, A, would give his egg to B for breakfast every day, and over time, this became a habit. Then one day, A gave the egg to C. B was very angry and felt that the egg should have been his. B had taken A's kindness for granted.

While A has the right to decide who to give the eggs to, B fails to understand that helping you is a favor and not helping you is a favor.

Leaving aside the question of whether or not B knows how to be grateful, from the fact that A helps others, do you help others without expecting anything in return, or do you expect to be thanked and praised?
