Ever since I was a child, I have noticed that I am a bit special, such as being easily shy, always trying to avoid social situations, and often indulging in daydreams, and these manifestations made me wonder if I have a schizoid personality.
I've also looked up some information on the subject, but have not been able to find an effective solution.
My life is pretty normal now, and this personality trait doesn't affect me much, but I'd like to know what I can do to improve or "cure" myself.

Hi! First of all, a warm spaced out hug to you. It's great to see you reaching out for help, and I hope that what I've shared will give you some support. It's really great that you were able to perceive your timid, socially avoidant traits from childhood and reached out for help!
First of all, I would like to say don't label yourself so easily, such as "schizoid personality disorder". Labels can sometimes be misleading. You may just have some similar personality traits, but that doesn't mean you are schizophrenic, because schizophrenia needs to be diagnosed by a medical professional. Thinking about the label may cause you to focus on the negative traits and ignore your strengths.
Also, it's important to understand that people who actually suffer from schizotypal personality disorder usually have severely impaired social functioning and even need to be hospitalized. But the fact that your life is basically normal means it's not that bad, right?
So try to be aware: when you always thought you had this problem, what benefits did it bring you? For example, it may have gotten you more attention and understanding from your family, or allowed you to avoid certain life choices. If you can see that it bothers and benefits you at the same time, you'll be in a better position to seek change, right?
In other words, see if the needs that are being met by "sick" thoughts can be replaced by healthier ones?
I'm Lilly the Answer House Little Ears, and the world and I love you.
